Adlabs-Luthria-Projekt (2/2007)
Adlabs hat für eine seiner hauseigenen Produktionen den Regisseur Milan Luthria (u.a. Deewaar und Taxi No. 9211) verpflichtet. Einem unbestätigten Gerücht im Februar 2007 zufolge plante das Team ein Remake des Hollywood-Films Dick Tracy von 1990 - mit dem Zinda-Jodi Sanjay Dutt und John Abraham in den Hauptrollen. Im April 2007 war dann von einem Film mit dem Arbeitstitel "Revolverbullets to die for" die Rede, für den man Sanjay verpflichten wolle. Genaueres weiß man in beiden Fällen noch nicht.

Adlabs signed director Milan Luthria (Deewaar, Taxi No. 9211) for a home production. In February 2007 rumours said that they planned a remake of Hollywood's Dick Tracy (1990) with the Zinda jodi Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham, but these rumours were never confirmed. Then in April 2007 a film with the working title "Revolverbullets to die for" was announced. Since then no more news were to be heard.

Ahmed-Khan-Projekt (9/2009)
Ahmed Khan hat Sanjay einen Anti-Drogen-Film angeboten - ein Projekt mit autobiographischen Zügen für Sanjay, der seit der Überwindung seiner eigenen Drogensucht ja auch immer wieder an Anti-Drogen-Kampagnen teilnimmt. Produzentin ist Ahmeds Frau Shaira, Regie führt Faruq Kabir (Allah Ke Bande). Ahmed Khan meint, dass das Sujet Züge von Sanjays Leben hat und ihn deshalb unmittelbar angesprochen hat. Es wird darin um einen Mann gehen, der den Drogen verfällt, dann aber von ihnen loskommt und fortan den Kampf gegen Drogenkartelle weltweit aufnimmt. Als Drogenbarone möchte Ahmed Khan gerne Naseeruddin Shah und Irrfan Khan gewinnen. Ahmed Khan: "Sanjay Dutt wird der Jugend durch diesen Film klarmachen, wie gefährlich Drogenmissbrauch ist und dass den Drogen der Garaus gemacht werden muss. Es wird ein darstellungsorientierter Film sein, und er steht Sanjay Dutts Herzen so nahe, dass er möchte, dass jeder junge Mensch des Landes ihn sieht."

Ahmed Khan offered Sanjay a realistic film about drug abuse and its eradication. The anti-drug story will be produced by Ahmed's wife Shaira and directed by Faruq Kabir. Khan says, "It's related to Sanjay Dutt's life and is very close to his heart. He has been doing a lot of anti-drugs campaigns. The protagonist's plunge into a haze of drugs and then his redemption stuck an immediate chord in Sanjay Dutt's heart." The third segment of the plot will see Sanjay taking on drug cartels from the world over. "It's a film where in a fictional language, Sanjay Dutt will tell the youth how dangerous drug abuse is and how drugs need to be destroyed." Ahmed Khan hopes to get Naseeruddin Shah and Irrfan Khan for the roles of the drug barons. "It will be a performance-oriented film and so close to Sanjay Dutt's heart that he will want every youngster in the country to see it."

Noch vor dem Release von Aladin dachte Eros angeblich bereits über ein Sequel mit der gleichen Besetzung nach.

Another Shootout (4/2009)
Sohail Maklai/Ashtavinayak produziert, Regisseur ist Apoorva Lakhia. Lakhia will einen Film über die Cops drehen, die in den 70er und 80er Jahren die khalistanischen Extremisten bekämpften, und recherchiert dafür derzeit über jene Terrorzeit in Punjab, die er in seinem Film darstellen will - mit einem ähnlichen Realismus wie die historischen Ereignisse in Shootout At Lokhandwala. (Der historische Khalistan-Hintergrund ist u.a. bekannt aus dem Film Maachis.) Sanjay soll einen von mehreren "real-life cops" spielen, die auf dem Höhepunkt der Khalistan-Bewegung gegen Terrorismus und Extremismus in Punjab ankämpften. Zu dieser Cop-Gruppe soll auch Amitabh Bachchan gehören. Lakhia scheint nach SOAL ein weiteres brutal-gewaltsames Kaliber dieser Art zu planen.
EDIT 16. August 2009: Nach Auskunft von Apoorva Lakhia gab es dieses Projekt niemals...

Produced by Sohail Maklai/Ashtavinayak, this film by Apoorva Lakhia will be a movie on the cops who battled Khalistani extremism. The terror situation in Punjab during the 1970s and 80s will be recreated through rigorous research on that period and is to occupy the same gritty real-time-real-space as Shootout At Lokhandwala. Sanjay will be playing a real-life cop, one among a group who fought terror and extremism in Punjab. Amitabh Bachchan is also likely to play a real-life cop in this “period’ sharp shooter which will be in the same genre as Shootout At Lokhandwala with a similar gritty brutal and violent route.

Arasangam Remake (11/2008)
Sanjay Dutt will das Hindi-Remake des Tamil-Films Arasangam produzieren und darin Vijaykanths Rolle übernehmen. Regisseur Madhesh wird offenbar auch die Hindi-Version inszenieren; er freut sich auf die Arbeit für Sanjay Dutt Productions.

Angeblich plant Anthony D'Souza mit seiner Blue-Crew ein Sequel, das in Australien gedreht werden und Aasman oder True Blue heißen soll. Allerdings hat Tony noch zwei weitere Filme in Planung; das Ganze sieht daher bislang eher nach Gerücht aus.

Allegedly, Anthony D'Souza is planning a Blue sequel (Aasman or True Blue) with the entire Blue Crew, to be shot in Australia. But as all of them, even Tony, have other projects first in their schedules, this might take some time, if it's not just a rumour after all.

Bond (7/2008)
Offenbar planen Sanjay und Blue-Regisseur Anthony D'Souza eine weitere Zusammenarbeit - einen Action-Thriller mit Sanjay in einer Art Bond-Figur. Dabei will Tony sowohl das Drehbuch schreiben als auch Regie führen. Der Big-Budget-Film soll von Sanjay Dutt Productions und Shree Ashtavinayak koproduziert werden. Außer Sanjay (dessen Figur "quite a lady-killer" sein soll) steht jedoch noch kein weiterer Akteur fest (zwei weitere Hauptdarsteller werden noch gesucht). Dhilin Mehta, Managing Director von Ashtavinayak, bestätigt, dass Ashtavinayak mit Sanjay Dutt Productions für das Bond-Projekt zusammenarbeitet.

Sanjay and Anthony D'Souza will work together again after Blue. They are planning a big budget action thriller with Sanjay as a character à la James Bond ("quite a lady-killer"). Tony wants to both pen and direct the project. It will be co-produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions and Shree Ashtavinayak. Dhilin Mehta, managing director of Ashtavinayak, confirmed that Ashtavinayak will work together with Sanjay Dutt Productions for the Bond project.

C15170 (10/2007)
Ein etwas rätselhafter Filmtitel, soll er doch laut Business of Cinema zu dem Drei-Filme-Paket gehören, für das Bunty Walia Sanjay unter Vertrag genommen hat. Aber diese drei Filme wurden mit Lamha, Just Punjabi und Gangs of London angegeben. Wurde ein Projekt umbetitelt? C15170 soll von Yusuf Khan inszeniert werden. Es soll eine emotionale Story über eine Vater-Tochter-Beziehung werden, mit nur drei Personen im Mittelpunkt. Gedreht werden soll in Mumbai; außer Sanjay stehen noch keine Mitwirkenden fest.

A sort of enigma as this film is said to be part of Bunty Walia's 3-film-deal with Sanjay; initially these three films were named as Lamha, Just Punjabi and Gangs of London. Did one project get a new title? Anyway, Walia says, "The film is titled C15170. The story revolves around three characters. Till now only Sanjay has been finalized. It's an emotional story about a father-daughter relationship. We are in search of a girl now to portray the daughter's role." C15170 will be directed by Yusuf Khan and shot in Mumbai.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Projekt (6/2010)
Angeblich plant Soham Shah auf lange Sicht einen Film über den Marathi-Krieger Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Da Shah laut eigener Aussage nie einen Film ohne seinen Mentor und Guru Sanjay Dutt machen würde, gehen jetzt natürlich die Gerüchte um, dass Sanjay für die Rolle des Shivaji in Shahs Traumprojekt vorgesehen ist. Aber das sind im Moment alles noch ungelegte Eier; vor Nilesh Ranes Shivaji-Film will Shah erst noch seinen lange geplanten Film für SDP machen.

Soham Shah's dream project is said to be a film about the Marathi warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. As Shah has mentioned that he would never make a film without his mentor and guru Sanjay Dutt, rumours are on that he wants to cast Sanjay as Shivaji. But first Shah wants to make a film for SDP before working on Nilesh Rane's Shivaji film.

Dhawan war einer der ersten Regisseure, die Sanjay für sein Banner SDP anwarb. Zunächst war wohl ein Film mit Sanjay, Govinda und Riteish Deshmukh geplannt; inzwischen wurde jedoch die Besetzung Sanjay und Ranbir Kapoor bekannt. Die Dreharbeiten sollten im September 2009 beginnen.

Dedh (Ek Full Ek Half) (2/2008)
Ashwani Dheer soll nach seinem Kumar-Mangat-Film die Komödie Dedh (1 1/2) für Suniel Shettys Popcorn Entertainment drehen. Suniel Shetty erklärt dazu, dass es darin um ein kleines Kind und Sanjay gehen wird; Sanjays Partner soll angeblich Darsheel Safary werden.

Ashwani Dheer will do a film with Kumar Mangat and afterwards Dedh (1 1/2), a film with a comic flavour, with Suniel Shetty's Popcorn Entertainment. Suniel Shetty: "It is a story with a small child and Sanjay in it." The child shall allegedly be played by Darsheel Safary. But due to date problems, the film will not go on floors before 2010.

Do Lamhe Zindagi Ke (9/2007)
Angeblich will Tahir Hussain ins Filmgeschäft zurückkehren und diesen Film inszenieren, für den er Sanjay Dutt und Ayesha Takia oder Kangana Ranaut für die Hauptrollen haben möchte, außerdem sollen Hyder Ali und Afreen Khan mitwirken. Aber ich weiß nicht, was ich davon halten soll: Hussain will im Oktober 2007 zu drehen beginnen und hat Mitte September noch nicht einmal seine Hauptdarsteller verpflichtet, geschweige denn Drehtermine mit ihnen vereinbart? Zumal Sanjay - sofern er im Oktober überhaupt in Freiheit ist - ganz andere und ältere Verpflichtungen hat, denen er nachkommen muss und sicher auch wird. Für mich ist das lediglich ein Gerücht bzw. ein Planspiel.

Allegedly, Tahir Hussain wants to return to business and sign Sanjay for this movie. But that was at a time where Sanju was absolutely unavailable for ideas like this. In my opinion it was rubbish from the very beginning.


Full House (3/2008)
Laut einer Notiz in der Movie 3/2008 will Nitin Manmohan diese Komödie mit Sanjay und Mallika Sherawat produzieren.

Ghostbusters (2/2008)
Im Februar 2008 verdichteten sich die Gerüchte um den ersten Film von Sanjay Dutt Productions: Ein Remake von Ghostbusters mit Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh und Saif Ali Khan (der anstelle des ursprünglich angedachten Salman Khan an Bord geholt wurde, da Salman wegen Terminschwierigkeiten absagen musste) soll es werden. Regisseur Sujoy Ghosh (der zumindest die Anfrage von SDP bestätigte) sollte mit den Dreharbeiten Ende 2008 beginnen, sobald die Post-Production von Aladin abgeschlossen ist. Derzet sieht es jedoch eher so aus, als sei das Projekt verschoben oder eingestellt worden.

In February 2008, rumours about the first film of Sanjay Dutt Productions talked about a remake of Ghostbusters with Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh and Saif Ali Khan (who is said to have replaced Salman Khan who had to walk out of the project due to date hassles). The director will be Sujoy Ghosh (who at least confirmed that SDP asked him to direct a film but refused to say more). Shooting was to start in the end of 2008 when the post production of Aladin is completed. However, meanwhile the project seems to be stalled or at least shelved.

Soham Shah soll den ersten Film für Sanjay Dutt Productions drehen. Es wird darin um Outdoor-Sportarten (Mountain Climbing) gehen. Es spielen u.a. Amitabh Bachchan und Zayed Khan; ob Sanjay selber auch mitspielt, ist noch unklar. Die Dreharbeiten sollten Ende 2008 beginnen; angeblich war Sanjay jedoch mit dem Skript nicht zufrieden und verlangte eine Überarbeitung.

Golmaal-Regisseur Rohit Shetty plante diese Komödie à la Welcome für das beliebte Munnabhai-Circuit-Paar Sanjay Dutt und Arshad Warsi. Nach einem heftigen Streit zwischen Warsi und Shetty nach dem Release von Golmaal Returns haben jedoch beide angekündigt, nie mehr miteinander zu arbeiten. Bleibt abzuwarten, was nun aus diesem Projekt wird.

A comedy on the lines of the Munnabhai series, directed by Rohit Shetty, was planned to reunite the endearing Munnabhai-Circuit pair Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. However, after a fall-out between Shetty and Warsi, it seems unlikely that the film will be made in this constellation.


Julia (12/2007)
Ein Gerücht im Mumbai Mirror brachte Ende 2007 Sanjay mit Vishal Bharadwajs Fearless-Nadia-Projekt Julia mit Franka Potente in Verbindung. Allerdings sehe ich noch nicht so recht, wo Sanjay diesen Film in seinem ohnehin schon dichtgedrängten Terminkalender unterbringen will. Und nach Berichten von Mitte Dezember 2007 scheint das gesamte Projekt auf der Kippe zu stehen - bzw. Sanjay abgesagt zu haben.

In December 2007, Sanjay's name was linked with Vishal Bharadwaja's project Julia about Fearless Nadia. But obviously, Sanjay refused the offer.


Lakhia-Maklai-Projekt (2/2008)
Sohail Maklai arbeitet an seiner nächsten Produktion, die größtenteils in Übersee gedreht werden soll. Apoorva Lakhia soll inszenieren, cast-mäßig ist Zayed Khan bereits fest. Und angeblich sind auch Ajay Devgan und Sanjay Dutt im Gespräch. Ich pack das mal in die Kategorie "Gerüchte mit Abwarte-Faktor".

Dieses Projekt bedarf einer kleinen Vorbemerkung: Dieser Mohammad arbeitet seit 28 Jahren für Sanjay, seit er in Vidhaata Sanjays Spot Boy war. Später hat Sanjay ihn als seinen "Man Friday" eingestellt, und Mohammad erwies sich als treue Seele: Als Sanjay in U-Haft kam, hat Mohammad sich keinen anderen Job gesucht, sondern auf Sanjays Freilassung gewartet. Bis heute ist er bei ihm geblieben, versucht sich jetzt nebenbei als Filmproduzent und plant nun seinen ersten Hindi-Film - mit Sanjay!
Mohammads erster Hindi-Film soll eine Musikkomödie namens Maamu I Love You werden; Regie Ajay Chandok. Es geht darin um einen liebenswerten Onkel namens Prasad (Sanjay) mit drei Neffen, die ständig irgendwelchen Unsinn anstellen. Auch Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty und Ritesh Deshmukh sollen mitwirken. Mohammad, Praveen Talreja und Shagun Wagh sind die Produzenten (gemeinsames Banner: S Class Film Production). Sanjay: "Ich war so stolz auf Mohammad, als er mir sagte, er produziere einen Film und wolle, dass ich darin mitspiele. Mohammad hat nie in seinem Leben um etwas gebeten. Er hat drei Bhojpuri-Filme produziert, aber mich nie um meine Mitwirkung gebeten. Diesmal kam er mit einem Scheck daher und sagte, ich möchte dich für meinen Film unter Vertrag nehmen. Ich hatte Tränen in den Augen... Ich wollte den Film für ihn produzieren, aber er hatte ganz klare Vorstellungen darüber, dass er das selber machen will."

Sanjay's Man Friday Mohammad who has been working for him for 28 years (and showed admirable loyalty when he didn't search for another job during the 16 months Sanjay spent in jail as an undertrial between 1993 and 1995 but loyally waited for his release) turned producer and now signed Sanjay for his first Hindi film, a musical comedy directed by Ajay Chandok. Sanjay will play a lovable uncle called Prasad with three nephews who are always up to some mischief. Besides Sanjay, the film will also star Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty and Riteish Deshmukh. Praveen Talreja, Shagun Wagh and Mohammad are producing the film under their banner, S Class Film Production. Sanjay: "I was so proud of Mohammad when he told me he was producing a film and wanted me to act in it. Mohammad's never asked for anything in his life. He's produced three Bhojpuri films but never asked me to act in them. He came to me with a cheque this time and said I want to sign you for a film. I had tears in my eyes… I wanted to produce the film for him but he was very clear that he wanted to do it on his own."

Saath soll ein komplett originaler Film sein; Gupta: "Überall werden Filme remaked und adaptiert. Wenn ich Ihnen die Vorlagen von ein paar Filmen verrate, die zuletzt als Originale auf dem Markt verkauft wurden, dann fallen Sie vom Stuhl. Und da ich in dem Ruf stehe, immer nur ausländische Filme zu remaken, suche ich jetzt mehr nach originalen Drehbüchern." In Saath will er außerdem mehr Gewicht auf das Erzählen der Geschichte als auf technische Feinheiten legen; insofern soll das Kaante-Sequel ganz anders werden als z.B. das Dhoom-Sequel. Sanjay Dutts Story für Saath bezeichnet Gupta als "eine brillante Idee, in die ich mich ganz einfach verliebt habe. Jetzt arbeiten wir beide Sanjus Idee aus". Mit Amitabh hat Gupta bereits gesprochen, womöglich wird auch er wieder dabei sein; außerdem Suniel Shetty und zudem Arjun Rampal und Fardeen Khan, dem Gupta versprochen hat, ihm eine Rolle zu geben, falls es jemals eine Kaante-Fortsetzung geben sollte. Ob Gupta mit einem Kaante-Sequel nicht einfach nur auf den derzeitigen Erfolgszug der Sequels und Remakes aufspringen und von ihm profitieren will? "Überhaupt nicht. Wir hatten von Anfang ein Kaante-Sequel im Auge, das lag bereits in der Story. Aber im Gegensatz zu anderen Sequels wie Krrish und Dhoom 2 wird Kaante 2 eine Erweiterung des ersten Filmes im Geiste sein und die Figuren in anderen Situationen zeigen", so Gupta (Mumbai Mirror, 5. März 2007). Mitte Juli 2007 kündigte Gupta den Drehbeginn für Anfang 2008 an. Allerdings sind von den bislang angekündigten Mitwirkenden hier nur noch Sanjay Dutt und Suniel Shetty aufgeführt, dafür ist neu Aftab Shivdasani dazugekommen. Zu dem Titel Saath meinte Gupta, es handele sich um ein Wortspiel: "saath" stünde sowohl für die Glückszahl Sieben als auch für Zusammensein.

Sanjay Gupta is planning a Kaante Sequel named Saath, based on a script idea by Sanjay Dutt. Gupta who anyway intends to stop making remakes and to concentrate on original stories, was very happy about Sanjay's idea which he called "brilliant". Besides Sanjay Dutt, Gupta roped in Suniel Shetty and Fardeen Khan and also approached Amitabh Bachchan. When Gupta in July 2007 announced the relaunch to be in the beginning of 2008, there was, however, no more talk about Amitji and Fardeen but of Aftab Shivdasani. Nach Sanjay Dutts Ausstieg aus White Feather Films will Gupta Saath nun für Sanjays eigenes Banner Sanjay Dutt Productions inszenieren. Als neuer Titel wird dabei Khotte Sikkey genannt.

After Sanjay Dutt's resignation from White Feather Films, Gupta now wants to direct Saath for Sanjay's new and own banner Sanjay Dutt Productions. With Khotte Sikkey, a new title came up in December 2007.

Regisseur Saurav Kabra war von der Zusammenarbeit mit Sanjay in EMI so begeistert, dass er ihn für seinen nächsten Film engagiert hat. (Oder umgekehrt? Vermutlich handelt es sich nämlich um einen Film für Sanjay Dutt Productions.)

Soham-Shah-Projekt "Indiana Jones" (3/2008)
Sanjay soll die Hauptrolle in Soham Shahs Action-Thriller spielen, den Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision produzieren wird. Laut einer RadioSargam-Meldung Ende März 2008 hat Soham Shah Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt und Imran Khan für einen Big-Budget-Abenteuerfilm im Stil der Indiana-Jones-Filme engagiert; Sanjay solle darin einen Forscher auf der Suche nach den Ruinen einer verlorenen Stadt in Indien spielen. Das Skript sei bereits fertig, mit den Dreharbeiten solle Ende 2008 begonnen werden.

In the end of March 2008, RadioSargam announced that Ashtavinayak and Soham Shah have signed Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan for a big budget adventure film and action thriller, similar to the Indiana Jones movies. The script was said to be already complete and the shooting was to begin later that year. Sanjay was to play an explorer who tries to find the remains of a lost city in India.

Offensichtlich plant Sanjay für seine Produktionsfirma einen Film à la Munnabhai, den Ajay Chandok inszenieren soll und für den Sanjay gerne Vidya Balan, Neha Uberoi und Zayed Khan an Bord holen möchte.
(Bedeutet dies womöglich, dass Sanjay ungeduldig wird, weil Raju Hirani und Vidhu Vinod Chopra zu lange mit anderen Projekten beschäftigt sind? Will er es jetzt selbst in die Hand nehmen, dass es mit Munnabhai weitergeht, weil er nicht mehr länger warten will? Aber Munnabhai ohne Hirani - geht das überhaupt? Ich warte mit - durchaus auch besorgter - Spannung auf weitere Infos.)

Rumours said in November 2008 that Sanjay plans to produce a film which shall sort of carry on Munnabhai's legacy. Ajay Chandok is to direct it, and Sanjay wants to cast Vidya Balan, Neha Uberoi and Zayed Khan.
(I just wonder whether these plans mean that Sanjay is getting impatient because Raju Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra are busy with other projects and he doesn't want to wait any longer for a revival of his Munnabhai fame? But will this work without Hirani? I'm very curious/anxious to learn more about this project.)

The Final Call (2/2009)
Surya Pratap plant einen Film namens The Final Call. Es soll darin um eine emotionale Vater-Sohn-Beziehung gehen, und beide Figuren sollen von dem gleichen Schauspieler verkörpert werden. Pratap hat diesen Film Sanjay angeboten, und er soll von dem Skript sehr angetan sein. Seine Zusage steht jedoch offensichtlich noch aus. AR Rahman ist im Gespräch für die Musik, und für einen groovy Englisch-Punjabi-Song sollen sich in den USA der Punjabi-Sänger Daler Mehndi und Shakira zusammenfinden. Sollte Sanjay für diesen Film zusagen, dann wird er mit den beiden Sängern auch in dem dazugehörigen Video zu sehen sein, das in LA gedreht werden soll. Surya Pratap, der bislang vor allem südindische Filme gemacht hat, hat die Filmstory geschrieben; Wilson Tong, bekannt aus The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, wird für Kamera und Action zuständig sein.

The Hangover (Remake) (7/2009)
Wenn man der TOI vom 27. Juli 2009 glauben darf, dann hat Firoz Nadiadwala die Rechte für ein Hindi-Remake von The Hangover erworben. Anees Bazmee soll den Film inszenieren; im Gespräch bzw. fix für die Rollen sind angeblich Abhishek Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt und Katrina Kaif.

If the TOI of July 27, 2009 is to be believed, Firoz Nadiadwala purchased the rights for a Hindi remake of The Hangover. Anees Bazmee is to make it with Abhishek Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt and Katrina Kaif.

Unusual Love Story (2006)
Seit der Ankündigung im Jahr 2006 hat man nichts mehr von diesem Film gehört. Unter der Regie von Mahesh Manjrekar sollten Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi und Celina Jaitly darin spielen.
